Make-up!

I love makeup. And, no, I'm no self proclaimed make up guru. But I do have a few favourite website I like to turn for my cosmetics.

All of these websites are can be quite expensive. But, you can purchase them as you feel necessary.

I was introduced to this company when my roommate went on a trip to Halifax, I don't believe they have a location in my province. But, they make all natural products. Made fresh. Lush!

They offer everything from body lotion, to facial cleansers, to soap bars. Like I said, these are completely natural products. I will tip my hat to any company, especially cosmetic company that uses natural products.
Products I recommend: 9 to 5, facial cleanser, and Herbalism. Both are for oily, or blemish prone skill.

The next company, I'm sure you have all heard of, Sephora!

Not as natural friendly. But, probably one of the best makeup companies I've had the pleasure of trying.
Products I recommend: (Any) of their Urban Decay: Naked Palettes. BareMinerals Matte Foundation, with SPF 15!

Thirdly, I like SmashBox! I love their eyebrow collection. My eye brows are pretty tam, but all part of the process of bring things together. They are a little bit cheaper then the top two on some stuff.

Products I recommend: Brow Tech To Go, (27.00), Halo Long Wear Blush.

These are just some of the stuff I recommend, now in about a month, I will get my Beauty Box 5, so be prepared for a post to take a look at what is inside.

Indian Butter Chicken Recipe!

I have a new recipe for you! Although, hopefully you've all heard about this delicious under-taking of food.

Indian Butter Chicken

What you'll need:

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 bottle of VH Indian Butter Chicken Sauce (or a brand of your preference, there is lots out there)
- 2 cups of white instant rice
- Add your favourite vegetables. Sometimes I like to add Spanish oninons, yellow, red, and green peppers. (these are not necessary)

Preparation:
- You will place the chicken in the pan, with some butter and your perferred seasoning (I like seasoning salt), and cook on medium heat for 10-20 minutes - until chicken is no longer pink.
- Once the chicken is cooked, all the way through, take it out of the pan and cut the chicken in small/medium size chunks, and place it back in the pan.
- Take your bottle of Indian Butter Chicken, and depending on your chicken add the entire bottle into the pan. Lower heat, simmer-level 2.
- On a separate burner, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, (add some salt), and then add the rice when it comes to a boil.
- Place pot cover the rice for directed time until all the water is gone.
- Let cool and serve.

Makes:
2/3 servings

Right about here, I said fuck, really loud.

I've been sitting on a tattoo idea for awhile. And today, on the anniversary of my aunts death. I got one!

Right about here, I said fuck, really loud.

 All done but the cleaning.

All things put aside, that tattoo is simply amazing and I love it. And it commemorates my struggle through life, and one of the most important people in my life. My aunt.

A very successful endeavor.

Do you have a tattoo? What is it of?

Happy New Year, everyone!

Today is the last day of 2013! Remember last year, we all thought we were going to die? How far we've come. Good for you humanity.

A lot of things happened this year, I won't go on and tell you them all. Or maybe I'll name a few.

1. I moved in with some lovely people, and have a new place to call home.
2. I got my first ever job!
3. I gained a wonderful relationship.
4. And I've managed to survive some of the toughest times of my life.

Successful year. But, like all things, you have to make some improvements. Although, I know, in a few short weeks my resolutions will be last thing on my mind, I would like to share some of the things I'd like to improve on.

1. Improve my GPA.

Last year, I made a resolution of making the Deans List. A personal goal of mine. I want to do well in school. People often scoff at me about me wanting to better, but, hey, some of us have to be over-achievers to compensate for the under-achievers.

2. Go outside more.

I am not a very social person. For me, staying in, in a quiet room, watching a movie with my boyfriend is all the more being then being out with a group of people. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, but I am a private person. Outdoors would be my goal to step away from being so private and enjoying nature.

3. Looking after myself better.

I have diabetes. And I need to look after it better. End of story.

4. Manage my money better.

I ran into financial crisis this year. I hit hard times, and managing my money is a good way to curb that issue for good. I need to pay attention to what I'm spending, and the difference between needing and wanting something /unnecessary/.

5. Love more, trust more.

As I mentioned above, I found love in someone this year. I love him more then words. He helps me whenever I'm down, up, upside down. I have a lot of trust issues and it causes sometimes tough times between us. But we care about each other a lot, and I owe it to myself and him to love more, trust more.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Crossing my fingers on this one

Pre-warning this post will not have very many pictures! It'll have none. I just want to tell you how things are going.

It would appear the sun is shining in my corner of the boxing ring. So basically without all the stupid vagueness my life has turned around for the better.

It happened in a few processes really over a four month span. It started rocky, which should be no surprise consider the events of my year. I had no job, I had no social life, I rarely left my house, and I was very depressed. All those things leading to the last.

Then after a set of very revealing conversations, I discovered this weren't actually what they appeared to be. Now, that store is much more then I would care to share. Since then, it's been up!

I have reconnected with someone very special to my future, and it would seem that despite the road we took was filled with a lot of huge holes, we are managing to do things right and both of us are happy. You might see this person on my blog in the future, so keep an eye out!

I am moving back to my favourite city, and school soon. Like in the next day or so. Though finances are a bit rocky, I now have faith that stuff like that will work out. And hopefully in time to pay the bills. (crossing my fingers on this one)

I guess a few things I've learned this whole month is
1. Things aren't always what they seem.
2. People will lie to you, so remember who you SHOULD trust.
3. Love rekindles, even when you think you don't deserve it
4. Life will turn around, no matter what curve balls it wants to throw at you.

Has anything turned around for you lately?

I don't know what to name this post...

It's been awhile since I've actually posted on here. Mostly because I've been ill. And, work.

Not a lot has happened really.

However! My employers got a new kitten. The vow to call it Jess! And of course I could resist spoiling it when I arrived yesterday.

It's an orange tabby. And hyper! We had a full house yesterday. A dog who isn't a very happy dog, a kitten who could barely sit still for five seconds, and two very small children who like to pull/hit/grab and expect the animals not to react, I definitely had my work cut out for me.

I went a little camera crazy. But he is just so adorable! And he's my new friend until I'm done work.

It was also my Dad's birthday yesterday. Though I worked, my Mom managed to baked a cake for him. And since my father is anti-photograph, anti-internet, I snapped some pictures of the cake and lit candles.

We hid it in the oven as the most logical place to hide a cake. Well, it is for hiding things from my Dad.

Dad has a big smile when he blew out his candles on his surprise cake, and his belly was pretty happy after eating a piece because it was mighty good! Thumbs up, Mom!

Music Mania Monday/Tuesday

I apologize that this is a day late. I got called into work and never arrived home until very late and it slipped my mind.

So this is Music Mania Monday Tuesday

Though I grew up on country music, I tend to veer away from it because these days country music sounds a lot like pop music. Aside from the reference to girls in cowboy boots, tailgates on a chevy, and partying until the sun comes up. It's about the same.

Recently a new band has hit mega fame. Florida Georgia Line. I hear this song all the time. On the radio, on the music channel, or even on Songza! So that is my pick for this week.

Florida Georgia Line: Round Here

Music Mania Monday

This weeks Music Mania Monday is Miley Cyrus's: We Can't Stop

This song backs a lot of attitude from the former Disney star. Racking a lot of controversy over the content of the video, I feel this song packs a punch that needed to happen.

The lyrics are strong and provide a sense of independence everyone can serve to gain from, not to mention it's pretty catchy!

Music Mania Monday

I've decided to my best ability once a week to make a music suggestion for you guys to listen to. I'll refer to it as Music Mania Monday!

This weeks tune comes from Thompson Square: Glass

An Adventure and A Birthday!

A day in the life of Nathalie hasn't been what I would call "exciting" however I do have some things to share with you.

After spending nearly 1/4 of my summer unemployed, doing everything I could to keep up with bills and the stress of paying them, I can proudly say I got a job! This isn't a retail job, it's a job looking after kids. Which might I add is a tough job for anyone! AmIRight? Yes.

The kids are 2 1/2 and 14 months, and I meet them tomorrow! I am very excited. Wish me luck!

But before the work, came play! I went back to the city I go to university at. Woah, what a rush. You never really know how much you miss a place until you haven't been there in a month and a half. The city was buzzing when I got there. And as I approached, I was FREEKEN excited beyonds words.

The drive was long, hot and the traffic was insane. As it was twenty-one degrees in the city today.

I curb the heat by wearing my new maxi dress bought at...wait for it...WAL MART, the best store for anything discount and useful.

There is a new frozen yogurt place I was dying to try! And, I did. If you have a Menchies in your city. Go to it sometime! Now!

I added blueberries at the last minute!

I also kept my spoon like my inner child told me to.

I also bought some painting supplies, and balloons for my late aunts birthday we plan to release!
It made for a fun day! I also ate at a local Chinese buffet, but that was me too busy pigging out to take pictures!

Recently, it was my best friends birthday, I regret not making a post. But you know, I'm lazy!
His birthday was on June 14th!

I made him a painting, and he had loads of birthday
wishes from friends and family, even on the radio. He received a cake from some of his new friends at his job!

That's an adventure for now!

What have you been up to?

My Wandering Feet

One of the greatest benefits of living in a urban area is nature. At night we you hear crickets and bullfrogs as you think about clever things to put in your blog post are rather soothing.

In the evening when the temperature isn't too hot; the weather has been crazy warm around here lately. Not that I'm complaining in the least. And there are minimal flies. You can take a walk filled with lovely scenery that is also very comforting to a wander soul.

It's my feet, and a clever way to display my favorite flats. See!

The sunset here is lovely!

In nature you sometimes find that things not meant to be pretty in fact are.

Tomorrow I head back in the world of concrete and people to get some groceries to be healthy!

Where will your wandering feet take you tomorrow?

Chicken...and then fall Caesar?

Today, I completed my second exam...in 30 minutes. Holy crap on a cracker. But, I know I at least achieved myself a B-, which I'm okay with it. It doesn't stop there though my friends. I have another, but final, exam on Saturday, at 9 a.m. Clearly the definition of brutal. But, on the bright side, three hours later I can walk away Scott-free, and spend the weeks after biting the finger nails off myself waiting for marks.

Anyway, I hate to depress all of you with my horrible stress and exams. I spent the morning saying goodbye to close friend I've learned to love. She's about as crazy as I am, and I will miss her dearly here at St. Thomas.

Goodbye, Michaela!

She's the blonde beauty on the right! With our match perfect red lips.

But what would a blog post be without food?

For dinner, I had the most wonderful salad, something I have become very addicted to.

Creamy Caesar dressing is the best thing I have ever put to my lips. And not to mention combining it with chicken. Brilliant fucking idea. Then again, most of my ideas have fucking brilliance to them. Well...some. Others may be quite questionable.

Then after some hard side curdling laughter with two of the world's greatest people, I walked home. Slightly cold today, bundle up people of Fredericton, or at least a sweater.

I returned home, and supper was awaiting me. What a lovely thing, eh? Everyone should come home to supper. Not to domestic anyone. That's silly.

Lasagna, rice and meatballs! Yum.

Want some? Sorry, I ate it. I ate ALL of it. Sorry, guys that was rude.

After spending sometime with my face in a book (which I am now back to), I spent a couple of hours at the mall with my friends. Vanessa and Michaela. Since the day I write my last exam Vanessa will be returning home until next year. Which makes me very sad. We'll have a happy reunion next year.

I ate something not as healthy as would have been my intention. Taco Bell!

The day was wonderful, but I must bid you adieu as I have work to complete and another day of studying ahead of me.

My Day - plus some advice!

My day didn't go as planned, but common how people's day goes actually as planned. Not many! I started the day off badly. Namely by sleeping through my alarm...this happens more often then I would like.

I woke up, and make myself some oatmeal, and ran my ass off to the bus station. That's serious stuff, missing the bus. Which is a topic I will discuss it a future post.

I went to my first class, and well, felt sick. So I talked to my second class professor, and walked home. (this is the part that wasn't planned, and even worse, I may have to end up going home.)

After about an hour I made some dinner! Always fun right?
Nothing fancy or great I assure you, but might tasty!

I later laid down, watching a new found addiction. Sex and the City...shame.
That nap I can assure you was one of the best of my life. Ah!

Now, on to some advice I've learned. Nothing life changing but, here is my advice for people who are struggling with a cold, flu, or anything "sick" related.

1. Visit the doctor, never put this off, it's not worth it

2. Get your prescriptions right away!
3. Stock up on some Kleenex! (box or these nifty things both work.)

4. Read some metaphysics....
JUST KIDDING! That shit is awful.

5. And lastly, indulge in making your self feel better! With anything you like. Me, it's baby lotion and bubble baths.
Taking care of yourself should always be a priority. This may not be helpful.
