I got my first job ever!

So I have wonderful news for all of you!

I got my first ever job! I finally did it. I rarely ever feel accomplished in my life. I've never achieved anything truly outstanding. And though this may not seem truly outstanding. I think it is.

I start my official training at a teen clothing store on November 2nd! I'm unbearably excited.

Things at university have slowed down considerably. Only one midterm left this month! And one next month. Weehoo!

I've been celebrating in a way

With some unhealthy foods...

And some healthy things.

Though I'm still buried in school work for the major part of my day. I've managed to spend some time for myself to keep myself healthy (as healthy as possible).

I love to remind everyone quite frequently that fall is my favourite season. So I'm enjoy the slightly chilly weather!

I also like free things, I like to collect coupons and get free samples. And thankfully, my samples arrived today.

Yay!

What's all new with my readers?

I most certainly had to unbutton my pants..

It's been a hectic month. I've completed 3/5 midterms so far this month. I'm currently taking a break from preparing for my fourth on the block. I did well on my first two, I know I didn't do well on my third. (circumstances given, I hate the course). I go two A's!

Yay, go Nathalie!

The above reasons are why I haven't been filling you with the wonderful bits of my life.

I went home for the Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. It was a lovely meal, and I most certainly had to unbutton my pants for the last piece of pumpkin pie and tea.

I, then, returned to the vast city! Relieved to be back and spending more time focusing on my studies. Family tends to pull you in a million directions on holidays. I get nothing done.

I spent my first night back, the night of Thanksgiving Monday, with my boyfriend. I downloaded some of my favourite Halloween movies. Baked some Halloween cookies. It was a spook of a time.

My grandmother who is known for taking hand me downs and then forcing them upon all the grandchildren has most certainly paid off for me. Being that I love things that have a history, and have a hipster like look to my appearance love when she hauls out items like this sweater...

Macklemore would be a proud soul.

I recently bought some things to warm up the feel off my bedroom. Make it more like my home.

I also made a small purchase for myself!

Also, I have great news for all of you!

I finally managed to land myself my first ever ACTUAL job interview. It went fairly well, I'm currently waiting on an application. And lets cross our fingers I get the job, shall we? I. need. it.

Love,

I'm always the sober loser

This weekend is a dry one. I have my first midterm of my second year looming on Tuesday. Hence why I'm on the internet blogging to you about how I'm not studying my material.

The week started off poorly, with me getting hit by a car. And my boyfriends car had a devastating inspection. Tears were shed, on my boyfriends behalf of course. I consider my relationship split in two. I respect Leonard's attachment to his car. And all the other cars we see around the city.

Weekends are usually when I spend the most time with Lenny. Unfortunately this weekend he couldn't stay in the city. He's home with his family, and his car is parked for the near future. (sad sad sad)

But before he left we had...Friday day night!

We brought endless amounts of snacks

I've wanted these cookies for the longest time. And in an act of kindness from my boyfriend - he bought me Spooky Cat cookies, and Pumpkin cookies.

And he (I am not gonna lie, I had a couple of sips) had some drinks...

Peach schnapps and cranberry juice is the best combination of alcohol I've ever tasted in my life. (The diet Pepsi is mine obviously, because I'm always the sober loser)

Lenny has a obsession for Star Wars. I recently got him a Star Wars t-shirt. However; I spotted these in HMV and I couldn't pass them up!

He loved them!

I also managed to take some really cool shot as fall creeps in on us!

I took a break from studying today and went to Menchies. It was glorious.

Though this week/weekend went a little poorly, I enjoy the small things!

"Nathalliiiieee, ew, stappppppp"

October has hit. Midterm month! Things at university are starting to pick up. I literally have everything due this month. A final draft for a journalism story, four midterms, plus an academic paper. Feel the stress yet?

My academic paper hasn't even crossed my work desk. After a illness infested first year caused entirely by stress from school, I certainly know I am aiming for a better outcome this year.

This week started terribly. I got hit by a car...

Calm down! Obviously, if I am at computer writing a blog post, I am quite fine. I have a sore knee. That know requires me to wear a brace for the mean time.

Even though you suffer through pain and injury you must always be classy. (actually, I would prefer to dress in the most comfortable clothes like sweats and t-shirt, but this outfit was to cool to deny)

I also did some other things not so tragic this week. Like I re-colored my hair.

The light is rather unflattering, but it's get super close to the shad of red I want.
I also had a date night with my lovely boyfriend, Lenny. We, well he watched all of Finding Nemo, while I drooled all over his pillow. He denies it's weird, but I think deep down his brain goes, Nathallliiieeee, ew, stapppppp.

Lets just say we didn't get to the third movie...but a good night none the less.

What interesting things have you been doing during October? Are you feeling midterm month pressure?

What I like to get the value out of things....

I have done a few eventful things this week. I managed to finally get myself a new pair of sneakers. (these were like necessary). Forced by the fact, the sole in my flat was worn out the point I cut the bottom of my feet on the pavement it was time for a good pair of shoes.

...What I like to get the value out of things...

That's clearly a horrible picture. But you folks know what I'm getting at....maybe.

I also managed to design the craziest hipster outfit I could today, and I was FABULOUS!

No match? No problem!

I struggle with my weight, and body shape. I have for most of my young life. Portia de Rossi the very stunning wife of comedian Ellen DeGeneres has a book called "Unbearable Lightness" a biography of her struggle with issue similar to mine. Upon discovering this, I immediately had to buy the book.

Also today, I cooked chicken and watched Narnia! Because I could.

What have you been up to?

Because they're meant to be that way.

It's been awhile since I've posted. For that, I apologize, life for me as you know can sometimes get a little complicated. Things are broken, mended and reestablished. In a matter of mere weeks. All the change just means you need to settle into things that are normal!

For example; I woke up recently, to discovered my nose piercing had completely grown over during the night. Fantastic! I realized that meant I was in for a painful visit to my local tattoo and piercing shop. To say the least, I do not wish to relive the horrifying popping experience I had, ever again.

However, my nose ring looks quite amazing.

Also, among other things I've done was update my iPhone. Though 2nd generation, my iPhone is old. I did upgrade to the newest version handed out by our friends at Apple.

It's a weird mix between Android and Apple. Faced with the problem of Android stocks rising they figured in order to maintain their customers base they better do an overhaul of their system. Which, I might add, has not been done, ever. I'm not the biggest fan of the new system. However; I'm warming up to it. Mostly because my iPhone is my first and only child and you will have to have blood running from your eyes before I'll ever switch.

I have since reconnected with some of my favorite places in the city. It's night to walk into the old coffee shops and be recognized as a "regular" whatever that term might entail. You can quietly sit with your favorite latte (currently, Pumpkin Spice from Starbucks!) and read the paper. And it's equivalent to a rocking Friday night. (for me, that is!)

After a long day of homework (I don't like to use that term mostly because I'm an adult in every other aspect of my life, and then bam, homework, I'm back in middle school) I like to sit down with some comfort food and of course a can (or two) of diet pepsi and watch one of my favorite shows.

A very concerning event happened upon my campus. A apparent gun-man showed up on my campus. Scary as it was, the situation was quickly resolved. And the investigation is on-going.

Here are some pictures; well, because I could. And I'm apparently more calm in the face of danger then I should be.

You often times will find comfort in the most wonderful of things. But surprisingly the things you never expect.

Like walks home at night.

Or raindrops on the roof of a car.

Or in taking silly pictures with someone you care about more then yourself.

I apologize for the lighting in these photos.

You can make your life as happy as you want to be. And I've learned that recently. That, in time, you will grow away from your childish ways, you will learn that not everything in this world will be bad, and in time, things will come together - because they're meant to be that way.

Introducing Lindsay!

So last week was the first week of my second year of university. Last week I showed you all about my moving process and now my room; however, this week I'm introducing you to Lindsay.

We met in grade eight. And have been best friends ever since. Even though we have our fair share of rough times we have come through it, standing together.

On September 4th it was Lindsay's 19th birthday. So, I prepared her spaghetti supper and garlic bread.

As a gift I got her - The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks and a iPhone case she wanted.

We both went home this weekend otherwise there would be more to post. However, this is only the beginning of what we'll see from Lindsay, and hey, I might even let her do a guest post.

We went to one of my favorite places. A froyo place called Menchies! It was so good.

And introducing Lindsay...

My world would not be the same without her!
