I don't know what to name this post...

It's been awhile since I've actually posted on here. Mostly because I've been ill. And, work.

Not a lot has happened really.

However! My employers got a new kitten. The vow to call it Jess! And of course I could resist spoiling it when I arrived yesterday.

It's an orange tabby. And hyper! We had a full house yesterday. A dog who isn't a very happy dog, a kitten who could barely sit still for five seconds, and two very small children who like to pull/hit/grab and expect the animals not to react, I definitely had my work cut out for me.

I went a little camera crazy. But he is just so adorable! And he's my new friend until I'm done work.

It was also my Dad's birthday yesterday. Though I worked, my Mom managed to baked a cake for him. And since my father is anti-photograph, anti-internet, I snapped some pictures of the cake and lit candles.

We hid it in the oven as the most logical place to hide a cake. Well, it is for hiding things from my Dad.

Dad has a big smile when he blew out his candles on his surprise cake, and his belly was pretty happy after eating a piece because it was mighty good! Thumbs up, Mom!

Music Mania Monday/Tuesday

I apologize that this is a day late. I got called into work and never arrived home until very late and it slipped my mind.

So this is Music Mania Monday Tuesday

Though I grew up on country music, I tend to veer away from it because these days country music sounds a lot like pop music. Aside from the reference to girls in cowboy boots, tailgates on a chevy, and partying until the sun comes up. It's about the same.

Recently a new band has hit mega fame. Florida Georgia Line. I hear this song all the time. On the radio, on the music channel, or even on Songza! So that is my pick for this week.

Florida Georgia Line: Round Here

Music Mania Monday

This weeks Music Mania Monday is Miley Cyrus's: We Can't Stop

This song backs a lot of attitude from the former Disney star. Racking a lot of controversy over the content of the video, I feel this song packs a punch that needed to happen.

The lyrics are strong and provide a sense of independence everyone can serve to gain from, not to mention it's pretty catchy!

Music Mania Monday

I've decided to my best ability once a week to make a music suggestion for you guys to listen to. I'll refer to it as Music Mania Monday!

This weeks tune comes from Thompson Square: Glass

Then add the stinky stuff..like the beast I am!

What a fun-packed five days off! I get five days off from work, sometimes more since I don't work weekends, however, not all fun, means less pay. But I've done quite a bit in those days.

I had a delicious dinner at Pizza Delight with my Mom!

Filled with a bunch of good that left me full for the whole day.

And devoured like the beast that I am a fairly large lasagna!

Oh yeah, I had garlic fingers as a side and ate off my Mom's salad, I'm a bit of a pig. A pig.

I took my dog to the vet, not as pleasant as I thought it would be. After having surgery on a very swollen ear.  He had to return for a check up. He doesn't take well to being put in the back seat, nor being taken to the vet in the heat. He's a bit of a diva.

Tough life he has!

Then, I decided I didn't have enough shorts. I'm one of those people that literally avoid anything light and summery, I wear jeans all year around. But after seeing some short creativity on Instagram, I figured I would reach into my inner creativity and make my own. What a stinky process! Blah!

First you start my by cutting the pants to the length you want.

 Then add the stinky stuff.

Load on the stinky stuff; otherwise known as bleach, and wait for 30mins-1hour for the desired shade!

After it's done soaking in the bleach, proceed to put them in the washer to be washed, and then the dryer.

And you will get the perfect ombre short!

I'll wear these bad boys to work tomorrow as it's suppose to feel like 36 degrees!

I found many things in my life make me unhappy but sometimes you find things if not to make you happy, but to occupy your mind.

What do you do on your days off?

A little organizing and fangriling

This weekend was pretty successful I must say. I accomplished a few things.

Usually my weekends are spent with me being lazy, sleeping until noon or later, eating and repeating that cycle. However, not this weekend.

This weekend I beat the heat, I reorganized and cleaned my room, mowed the lawn for my father, and washed a vehicle, once or twice. Long story there.

I am not exactly following my fitness routine to a T. But I am back in the habit of running on a regular basis. Which is nice I might add.

I have made tremendous progress. All of which I am very proud to share with you and many hours of hard work yet to come.

I cleaned a very messy room somewhat neglected by the laziness I mention earlier!

And yes, I use the desk for everything but it's actual purpose, and yes I am living entirely out of two suitcases and a clothes hamper, why? I don't have any room to put these clothes away for 4 months.

I organized my shoes or what I can find of my collection. The move was bit hectic, and I lost some things among the chaos. WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE MY SHOES!

I made a list of things I need to get done in the next few weeks before the business of moving back to the city starts to hurl around the corner, and wrote down the days and hours I work this week. Ah, the benefit of working four days on and five days off.

And, lastly I watched many hours of my favourite show.

Charmed, forever remains over all other shows my favorite. Watch it man!

Weekends can be lazy, like mine usually are. But you can always find something fun and entertaining to do. Or in my case a little organizing and fangirling.

How do you spend your weekends?

Sun screen, summer food, and enjoy!

Recently we've been having a wave of heat. In the worst way. Turn on your A/C and never leave the house. Just kidding, that's really bad advice. But I do have some tips!

1. Block the sun: Here is my house we take large blankets or curtains and drape them over the windows in the house. Keeping the light and heat out by 45%.

2. Turn on the A/C: This tip seems pretty straight forward. Turn on your air conditioning on a low temperature, hit swing, and enjoy.

3. Cold treats: My favorite way to cool down most days is with a nice cool treat. Whether it be an iced latte or a big bowl of your absolute favorite ice cream. It will cool you down nice and quick! And don't be shy to go back for seconds.

4. Fans: The air conditioning may provide a large portion of your cooling however if I'm correct your A/C is isolated to one room or perhaps two. Keeping your ceiling fans or portable fans running will provide a general all around cool down!

5. Extra heat: Try not to create any extra heat inside the house. Extremely hot showers (if so, turn on a vent or air circulation), cooking with an oven. Always a great idea to use the BBQ, especially in the summer.

6. Dress appropriately: This is one of my worst problems, I never dress appropriately for the weather. I wake up pretty early in the morning for work. The temperature has not yet reached it's peek. It's normally pretty cold, almost too cold to even get dressed so I wear either a sweater or pant. Wear cool clothes, shorts, and a t-shirt, or a tank top and a shirt. It's important for your body not to over heat!

7. Drink lots: A common mistake for most people is they forget hydration. A lot of people believe that if they're in a shaded area or in the comforts of a seemingly cool house they don't need as much hydration. Wrong! Always hydrate, with water! Sometimes your favorite juice. Or in my case on a Friday after noon after a weeks work, an ice cold beer.

8. Shut the lights OFF: Going all with tip number one, make sure all light sources in your house are off or at least light grade bulbs. Light bulbs generate a lot of heat, in effect creating unnecessary heat source that are counter acting your efforts to stay cool.

9. Give your dryer a break: If you're anything like my house, your washer and dryer never stop going! So instead of dryer your clothes in a machine generating AGAIN excess heat, hang them outside on a close line. But make sure to shake them off nice and good before bringing them in.

My last tip is for those who enjoy this weather:

10. Sun screen, summer food, and enjoy: It is important no matter your age or skin tone to apply sun screen, there are one too many risks associated with the sun that are not worth taking. Go to your local drugstore and find the SPF right for you! Keep your food light, fruit, vegetables, chicken. (my inner health nut coming out) and most of enjoy the benefits of summer!

What are your tips for beating the heat? How is your summer going?

Oh yeah, shitty diapers, are shitty.

I've realized recently working a full time job is hard. Like really hard. I know it is a reality that everyone must face at some point in their life, and the fact that I'm 19 and only realizing this now is very sad. And, considering what I do, I probably have it easy.

I babysit two kids - so basically a paid housekeeper. And even though I don't get dressed in my Sunday best and spend my day behind a desk. It's still hard work.

Cartoons that for some reason are very poorly done play all day long. For the whole 12 hours.

Toys are scattered all over the house and I do mean everywhere...
The hours are long. Some days I start at 5 a.m. some days at 3-4 a.m. - Of course I don't get paid as a regular person would working a job from fast food/office/bank/etc but I do get a check at the end of the week.

Rewarding things about this new job is: I don't work on weekends, I work half days on certain days, and I get sometimes one day off during the week.

Although, now that I'm a full-time babysitter of young children whose vocabulary only consist of "no", "me wants", and "I has to pee" has turned me completely off to the idea of child. Oh yeah, and shitty diapers, are shitty. Literally and figuratively.

What do you work at? And how do you make the best of it?
